Mk4 Gloss Black Grill

Post by JayManKay »

Hi all.

I'm having issues finding anywhere other than this company (Underground Parts.) selling gloss black grills for mk4s. Anybody know where I can get my hands on one since this company are all out of stock. It seems they're like unicorns at the moment.

Cheers.

Just remove the chrome part of your grill and wrap/paint in gloss black and refit.
That’s all they have done with that. You can still see where the chrome part would be.

As someone who goes through alot of grills.....
Yeah they are pretty impossible to find all glossed.
I always try and get the one in the link, the bottom is gloss but has the 3 chrome strips.
Iv had it wrapped first which actually held up really well, then had it painted.... Badly.... Which didn't last.
Made my hybrid one out of one of these and had it painted by a reputable local body shop and the finish is like glass and seems to be very durable so far
Even attempting to take those silver strips off is a nightmare...

The grilles are not removable from a startline bumper. It's all one piece.
