Also checked the SSL cert for the site and that expires 2nd Dec 2025 so might as well see if that gets renewed as well.
All this hosting and ssl stuff is way over my head. Does the ssl require manual input or auto renews as well?
I’m guessing the website will just shut down one day?
Well, if you consider the 5 years of the domain, then it will or should stay till 2030, but if the hosting finishes before the domain then the website might go down sooner.
Hi, when it was identified that the domain was expiring, one of the other moderators managed to contact the host. They initially wouldn’t discuss the account as the credentials weren’t known, but they did inform us that it was on auto-renew. At that point it was just a waiting game to see if it went through, which luckily it did.
Unfortunately there has still been no contact from Doc, on here or via personal messages.
I appreciate any frustrations, but at this point in time there is no way forward enabling/upgrading accounts. It could be that the best option is to freeze the upgrade post, and add a statement so people know the forums position.
I’m no expert but I would actually say it wouldn’t be a bad idea to do that. Since a lot of people is joining with the expectation to be helped and probably contribute, but all are locked to this chat. If you do have the reach to discuss with the other mods, in my perspective looks like it would be a good option.
It's a shame that so much valuable information and contacts are locked away. Maybe the content should be duplicated or a new forum setup if the admin is AWOL.

In my own web-site hosting experience that'd be how things work. I've run sites well enough and not had to touch them for yonks. Pay the hosting and keep the domain current and leave it be.
If the domaiin is not renewed in Dec 2025 that could be where the tears start.
