ABS issue 00283 G47 Front Left

Post by marcuscreek »

Hi All!

proud owner of a 2010 Caddy, ex British Gas!

I have an issue with the ABS -

--283 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Front Left (G47)
012 - Electrical Fault in Circuit

I've tried replacing the abs sensor, twice. I've tested the sensors on the driver side, and they work fine.

The fault doesn't clear when i use VCDS, its constant
The fault doesn't change if i unplug the ABS Sensor.

ABS plug seems okay, no signs of any corrosion.
The wiring doesn't appear to have any signs of damage. i've done the 'tug test' and i'd say it passes.

the wire itself seems to enter the engine bay, and then immediately go out of it! which is frustrating and makes it challenging to check the full loom.

Any suggestions on next steps?
I'm considering using a multimeter, and i believe i need to check Pins 36 and 37.

Any one else had a similar issue before?

this is a UK caddy, so the abs issue is on the passenger side
