Bought some front and rear Touran carpets later down the line and sound deadened the floor pan before fitting. I also took the opportunity to fit the ducting and vent on the back of the Touran centre console, previously I had made a little cubby hole to replace the broken vent received with the it. The caddy was now a much warmer feeling place to be! During my recent ( and currently on going) suede phase I have covered the rear on the console and fitted usb outlets in the back

Now carpeted the thing letting the interior down was right in front of me every time I was driving. Cue multi function steering wheel! Picked up a steering wheel complete with airbag off of ebay and whilst at it picked up some stalks to get cruise control working, something I could not live without now

Visited Ultimate Dubs in 2023 ( almost up to date now ) and got a whole load of ideas flooding into my brain. Painted the side strips and rear grab handle. At some point I had previously done the side door handles, no photos of them though, and began scouring the interwebs for some Touran door cards

The previous owner had had something screwed into the side of the gear surround and with some left over suede from the door cards I thought before buying a new trim I'll give covering it a go. Much swearing later, a bit more suede ordered ( because I cocked it up first time round ) and determination I got the trim covered. Couple wrinkles but that's diy and learning as you go for you. Nicer to look at than screw holes at least. Finished up by covering the Touran ash tray, a much easier job and called it a job... done

Recently painted the engine cover to match the exterior and the blue caps of bottles black to hide them a bit. I'm not massively worried about the engine bay looking clean, it just gives me and my mechanic something nice to look

Just like everyone else's caddy this is an ever evolving project. Got more in mind to do, next up is blacking out the beige of the interior and suede covering the headliner, made a start on the A pillars to see how I liked it and will be bastardising a golf centre console to fit the sliding cup holder in due course

Finished work early Friday so made a start blacking out the rest of my interior. Removed the headliner and overhead shelf to suede wrap these and the rest of the beige interior plastics to paint

With a lot of filing the caddy cruise control module from the stalks can be made to fit inside a mk7 style stalk. Perhaps not the neatest of jobs but as is the theme far from perfect, perfect from far

Back together now, a way nicer feeling place to be. Added some sound deadening and insulation in the roof so hopefully a tad quieter too

You’re doing a great job on this mate. I’m pretty sure it would look good in any car show.

Thanks both! Would like to take it to a few shows, might encourage me to give the paint some love!
