Heater radiator replacement

I have no heat coming out of my heater, so I replaced the thermostat at the weekend, and it made no difference. The Engine is getting nice and hot now, so I suspect it's the heater rad.
Am I right in thinking it can be changed without the dash etc coming out.

When I searched the other day I saw a post that said so but I haven't found a how too, Is there a How to change the heater radiator.

Having looked on You Tube it is indeed possible, Just need to find out if the seals and o rings come with the radiators now?

I replaced the one my girlfriend's golf not long ago. It was completely full of crap. I didn't need any extra seals. It was a relatively easy job to.

Thanks for that, Youtube video I have seen makes it look fairly easy just fiddly. So were there no seals where the pipes went into the rad then or were they already in.

Just don't want to get halfway through the job and realise I need rubber seals.

Have u tried taking the pipes off and flushing the heater matrix thru with a hose pipe to see if its blocked,u mite unblock it with the hosepipe and u wont have to change it. Just a thot.

I’ve done the job on my older -09 LHD caddy, it is harder then YouTube videos as the pipes are sitting tight.

Yes there is brackets and orings which need to be replaced.
Also my recommendation is to use clamps to cut of the supply to the heater core as it will come out of the pipes and it will be all over the place in the car.

Well, given that it's done 213,000 miles, it's probably due for a change now. The Pipes are not that accessible to flush, and to be honest, I think it's leaking anyway now that I have changed the thermostat. So, it's a lesser of two evils changing the rad.

So, has anyone got any suggestions on how to get the pipes tight together so you can get the clamps on the pipes, please?
I have a van in bits, and I just can't seem to get the pipes together enough to get the clamps on.

The heater core came with 2 seals and two O-rings. Am I right in putting the o-rings in the holes and then the seals or do you put both on the pipes that go into the rad.
