My orange engine light is on yet again. This time I’m in Italy and they said the diagnostic tool says as blue sensors and they’re ‘at least’ €400 each + 2 hours labour. They reset it for me and said to see how it goes but after about 100 miles it’s on again.

That’s so much money just for 2 sensors.

Does anyone know how much these are to replace in the UK?

Probably the same in costs. Nox sensors and any genuine sensor have always been expensive.
When it comes to anything electrical, better off sticking to genuine or OE equivalent.

Try Wynn's crystal clear and blue additive, if you can find it in Italy.

It's designed to remove crystal formation on the injector. That might not be the problem but It's worth a go.

Update:

I bought the Wynnes additive when back in the UK and took it to Italy. I also bought a device to allow me to confirm the error code and clear it. I added 1/3 of the bottle as instructed and reset the code but the orange light came back 100 miles or so later. Once the light returned I figured the best thing to do was to wait until I was back in the UK to get the sensors replaced as any after service would be difficult from the UK if done in Italy. Then a few weeks later I decided to add another 1/3 of the bottle and shortly after the orange engine light went off by itslelf so it seems to have done the trick. Shortly after that the Ad Blue warning came up about topping it up so I did that and added the final 1/3 of the additive.

So a big thanks to PJD for the advice as it seems to have worked and saved me £1k

Great to know it's worked. Hopefully a permanent fix. Halfords now sell it under a slightly different name, still from Wynn's.
