Been on the forum for a good while now and have posted and commented the required amount and more. I understand that things take time and maybe people have other things going on in their lives. But no one seems to know the actual answer as to my we aren’t being granted access to the other sectors of the forum that would be helpful and be able to add helpful info to.

Can anyone she any actual light on the situation other than things take time time and be patient.

If indeed Doc has things going on has anyone who can actually contact him done so to make sure he is ok and if he wants to hand over the controls of grant access.

also been wondeing this, there are other moderators for the forum but they dont seem to be that active either.

It’s a shame as it’s looks like a great place to learn and share from what I’ve seen so far.
But I’m really looking to get so inspire from the mechanical side as I’m planning on doing my timing belt and water pump change out. I’ve watched plenty of videos on you tube and googles stuff. But would be nice to be able to share and learn about it here.

I’ve been stuck on restricted access for ages. At a point now where I’m thinking about looking for other forum.
My other car now is a Porsche Taycan and I’ve been granted almost instant access to the Taycan forum.

It’s tough as I love my little caddy project van.

Ye it’s not perfect but not sure what can be done about the situation. Anyone with any sort of knowledge about the forum just says you have to be patient.
But that doesn’t really help anyone.

The forum owner (Doc) is the only one who can grant access and he went missing well over a year ago. No-one knows what happened to him.

The moderators cannot grant access, so there is nothing anyone can do at this point.

Has anyone who’s close to doc had a go and contacting him even to see if he’s ok? Someone on here must have met him before

Oddly enough, according to the online domain registrars, the domain was renewed on 31/5/25 until 2030 so someone did that - just no way of knowing who. It was slated for release on 1/6/25 unless it got renewed and that indeed happened.

So do you think it had to be doc that renewed it? If so that means he’s been around just not accepting peoples accounts.

It could have been anyone close to him but of course they had to have the domain registration login details to renew the domain name on his behalf. It's all a bit weird but I don't know the guy so can't really say beyond that. People may not like this level of detail but at the end of the day, he put the forum up online and in public, and he seems to have managed it for many years but a lot of people have joined in good faith with no way of completing their membership, so of course are going to ask questions.

Ye that makes sense what you’ve said. So if someone has had access to renew the site with the required level of access then they should be able to access the account acceptance.

I’ve asked the question a few times this has been the most informative answer.

I can’t see it being resolved.

It could have auto-renewed, I'd be surprised if there was any manual intervention required. The site is hosted via Kualo Limited in London. If he's paying for web hosting then his payment details will be stored no doubt and it just rolls over and takes payment.

Also checked the SSL cert for the site and that expires 2nd Dec 2025 so might as well see if that gets renewed as well.
